Responsible Tourism

We only work with local guides in Samosir, Berastagi, and Bukit Lawang.

We aim to leave little impact on our environment and protect the flora and fauna. Therefore, our jungle treks in Bukit Lawang follows a strict code of no contact with or feeding of orangutans. Moreover, our guides run community projects such as a school in the remote village Selang Pangeran where children learn English from volunteers.

Our Recommended Tour Package

If you do not have a lot of time, the must-do activity is an Orangutan Jungle trek of 2 or (preferrably) 3 days. To trek lovers with more time, we advice to do a longer trek to get deeper into the jungle.

Sipiso Piso Waterfall

The favorite pick is a 7 day roundtrip from Medan airport, including a short orangutan jungle trek, hiking the volcano and seeing the waterfall around Berastagi, and visiting the scenic lake Toba.

Good to Know

Payment Process

A small online booking confirmation fee is required to confirm your booking request. The outstanding amount is usually paid in cash upon arrival. Alternatively - and only if you wish - the outstanding balance can be transferred in advance to our guide's Indonesian bank account.

In case you wish to pay the outstanding balance in advance, we recommend using TransferWise .

This is an increasingly popular payment platform among Western travellers for payments to non-Western countries, because international transfers via bank or PayPal usually assume unfavourable currency exchange rates on top of the commissions. Create a Transferwise account now - the confirmation process takes a few days - and ask for bank details.

Travel Insurance

We advice you to visit Indonesia with a good travel insurance. In case you do not have one yet, you may want to consider the international travel insurance World Nomads that many backpackers use.
